Afterwords he taught in the Worthington School System and served as principal at Linworth Elementary. He loved the outdoors and was fortunate to have traveled near and far for many hunting and fishing adventures. He was a generous man who without hesitation, was willing to help anyone in need. He is survived by three daughters, Diana Ciaffoncini, Christal McDowell and Suellen DeCola aswell as grandchildren and numerous nieces and newphews.

An excerpt from my Capstone paper regarding the Department of Defense’s ability to achieve audit readiness was published in the Fall/Winter 2012/2013 issue of the Journal of Public Inquiry, a publication from the federal Inspector General community that is also read by members of Congress and other stakeholders. I am also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in West Virginia and Virginia, a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), a Certified Defense Financial Auditor (CDFA, Level III), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Joyce graduated in 1978 from WL and is now a well known and respected music teacher who has produced 25 musicals. Joyce will be honored for her continued work and dedication to her students, teaching, and production of these musicals. The public is invited to join the celebration May 11, from 6:30-8pm at Tridelphia Middle School’s auditorium.

D., passed away at age 74, Wednesday, April 17th, after an extended illness. Toni graduated from West Liberty State College in 1960, and went on to get her Master’s Degree in Guidance and Psychology in 1964. Toni won numerous awards including an Education Specialist Degree in Counselor Education and Psychology from the University of North Carolina. Her curriculum design became a part of the National Depository for Curriculum at North Carolina State College and was the basis for her receipt of an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Colorado. Toni went on and finished her doctorate in 1982, from Florida State University’s College of Education Doctoral Program in Educational Administration.

Alumnus Brad Paisley ’07 announced the first leg of his highly anticipated 2013 tour, Beat This Summer recently, with special guests Chris Young and Lee Brice. The tour kicks off today in St. Louis and you can be a part of it! Forever Hilltopper is going to the 7 pm, Saturday, June 1 show at First Niagara Pavilion, Burgettstown, Pa. and alumni are invited to get on the bus! Tickets are $60 and include transportation to and from the show, concert ticket and a WLU T-shirt. Buses will depart from Wheeling Park’s White Palace at 3 pm and return immediately after the show.
