Supporting West Liberty State College

The West Liberty State College Foundation, Inc. was chartered in 1964 as the gift-receiving organization of the institution. Today, the Foundation oversees more than 150 different funds that support a variety of needs including student scholarships, faculty research, athletic programs, capital improvements as well as academic departments and schools of the College. Foundation assets currently total more than $14 million. Additionally, the Foundation received private donations totaling $1.8 million during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2007.

This support is especially timely in light of the fiscal challenges faced by the institution due to diminished state funding. Less than 30 percent of the institution's operating budget is currently being funded through state dollars. Increased private support is vital to the continuation of the institution's mission.
