Information Technology Services consisting of the office area, campus servers machine room, "Help Desk" and public lab are located in the basement of Main Hall/East Wing. The Help Desk provides expanded support for the college community with software installation and "hands on" assistance for word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.

In addition to the IT Services lab, several academic departments have labs around campus with a total of over three hundred workstations available (PCs and MACs) as well as networked laser printers. For details, see a particular department's home page.

A campus wide "switched" Fast Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN) connects administrative and faculty offices, several classrooms, as well as the labs for use by the college community. Approximately 95% of our LAN has been upgraded to a fiber optic backbone connecting all academic and administrative buildings. In addition, all dorms except Beta are completely wired providing internet workstation connections in each room. A student having a PC with a network card simply "plugs into the world" via our LAN!

You can also find wireless zones throughout the West Liberty Campus.  All dorms provide wireless access as do the College Union, Elbin Library, Media Arts Center lounge, ASRC Basketball arena, and Russek Fieldhouse pressbox.  If you have not already, you will need to register your computer to access the dorm wirless network.

IT Services also currently offers DSL services to our faculty housing and commons residents.

West Liberty is also connected to a Wide Area Network (WAN) via an ATM circuit provided by the West Virginia Network(WVNET). This link also provides a direct connection to the Internet as well as all other state institutions of higher learning.
