Creative Arts Therapy (Faculty)

West Liberty University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Faculty position in Creative Arts Therapy in the Department of Journalism, Communication Studies and Visual Art.

 

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 

Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the undergraduate Creative Art Therapy program, overseeing internships, curriculum development, and community relationships.   Additional teaching assignments will be based on the candidate’s background and the needs of the department.  The successful candidate will possess the credentials to teach a wide range of art therapy courses. All full-time faculty members are expected to actively recruit students for the Creative Arts Therapy program, serve on departmental and university committees, and continue to pursue professional development via conference participation, performance, and/or other professional activity.

 

Qualifications: 

Qualified applicants will possess the ATR-BC credential, with an earned master’s degree. A terminal degree in a related field is preferred.  (Terminal degree required for tenure-track).  A minimum of two years of art therapy professional experience is required and prior teaching experience is preferred.  The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the drive to represent WLU’s Creative Art Therapy program at the state and national level.
