West Liberty University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Faculty position as Director of Choral Activities in the Department of Music and Theater.
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will direct the Concert Choir and University Chorus, as well as oversee the choral program. Additional teaching assignments will be based on the candidate’s background and the needs of the department. Specifically, the department anticipates a need in the area of Music History. All full-time faculty members are expected to actively recruit students for the music program, serve on departmental and university committees, and continue to pursue professional development via conference participation, performance, and/or other professional activity.
Earned doctorate in music is highly preferred, ABD considered (doctorate required for tenure-track). Masters degree in music is required. Other preferred qualifications include: college teaching experience, public school teaching experience, and music history qualifications (cognate, teaching experience, etc.). Evidence of excellence in professional activities, such as conference participation, publication, guest conducting, etc., is required. The ability to work effectively with a diverse group of music faculty is required.
