Economics/Finance (Faculty)

The Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University is accepting applications to fill a tenure-track Faculty position in Economics. The new full-time tenure-track position begins Fall, 2013 and represents a commitment to expand offerings and grow the West College of Business.

To qualify for this tenure-track position, candidates should have a PhD degree in Economics, Financial Economics or related disciplines from an accredited institution. Applicants should provide evidence of or demonstrate potential for high quality teaching and research in the disciplines of Economics and Finance. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in both the undergraduate and IMBA curriculum. In addition to economics classes, there will be opportunity for those with teaching and research interests in financial economics to teach courses in the newly developing finance curriculum. ABD candidates whose dissertation is within one year of completion will be considered.

In addition to a strong discipline background, coursework and/or professional experience in the area of international economics or entrepreneurship will be helpful. Teaching load may include online courses in addition to traditional classroom instruction. The successful candidates will have a commitment to excellent teaching, scholarship and service (college, university and community). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package. Anticipated starting date: August 16, 2013.
