The Department of Professional Education in the College of Education at West Liberty University seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in special education (multi-categorical LD/BD/MI) for the graduate program, MA Ed.
Dedicated to a strong curriculum and thorough training of students, West Liberty Academy opened in 1838 with 65 students. Today, West Liberty University continues to prepare students in professional education and boasts an enrollment of over 600 students. We are in our 57th year of continuous NCATE accreditation. West Liberty University (http://www.westliberty.edu) is a small, comprehensive institution under the auspices of the West Virginia High Education Policy Commission.
The successful candidate will possess a terminal degree in education/special education, expertise and experience in working with children with special needs -specifically learning disabilities, mental impairments and behavior disorders -specific knowledge of diagnostic assessments and research related to the field, evidence of infusion of current instructional technology related to special education, a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in P-12 education, and teacher certification in the State of West Virginia (or be certification-eligible). The successful candidates will possess expertise and experience related to research-based reading interventions and the strategy instruction. Salary is commensurate with degrees and experience.
