Employees who accrue annual leave may chose to remain on the payroll after their last official day of actual work, i.e., their last workday. Any leave eligible employee who so remains on the payroll of the University using accrued annual leave balance is determined to be in a period of “Terminal Leave.”
I Any employee in a “terminal leave period” is not eligible to continue to accrue additional leave balances, sick or annual after their official last day of work.
II. The “last day of work” is defined as the last day the employee is physically present on the job and should not be confused with the “last day on the payroll” which may be different.
