PERPETUAL ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The following “Perpetual” calendar has been developed to help eliminate a great deal of year-to-year subjectivity in constructing the calendar. This calendar allows for:
At least a three-week break between Summer School and the start of the Fall Semester
At least a three-week break between semesters at Christmas
Fall Semester to end at least one week before Christmas
Spring Vacation to be at least one week after the Mid-Term point of the semester (i.e. Spring Vacation would be after the eighth week of classes)
FALL SEMESTER would always commence on the Monday following the third Tuesday in August. The range of starting dates would be August 21 (earliest) to August 27 (latest).
SPRING SEMESTER would always commence on the Monday following the second Saturday in January. An exception will occur when the Monday following the second Saturday in January is Martin Luther King Day, at which point the Spring Semester will commence on the following day, Tuesday. The range of starting dates would be January 10 (earliest) to January 17 (latest).
