WV Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) requires all institutions in the State of WV to review all programs offered and address the viability, adequacy, necessity, and consistency with mission.
West Liberty University utilizes a five-year Board of Governors Program Review Process. Programs are evaluated in the University Assessment and Accreditation Committee. This Committee uses a rubric PR Rubric to evaluate program assessment and make formal recommendations to West Liberty’s Board of Governors. The Board of Governors reviews the documents and makes formal recommendations and/or approval before final submission to the HEPC.
A Program Review matrix (schedule of due dates) for Undergraduate and Graduate programs is maintained. Nationally accredited programs such as dental hygiene or nursing are required to submit electronic copies of their most recent self-study. Liberal Arts programs submit two sections (1) PR.Section I and (2) Assessment of student learning.
