Welcome to West Liberty University! I am Jessica McDonald, President of the Student Government Association. I would like to be the first to welcome you to your new home as a Hilltopper. Over my past couple of years as a Hilltopper, I have realized that I made the right decision. The atmosphere of West Liberty University is completely welcoming. While walking around campus, one could feel they have a family on the Hilltop.
During my time at West Liberty many improvements have been made to better an already great university. The renovations to Shaw Hall can make it possible for present and future students to find convenience when reaching the administration offices. The construction of Campbell Hall, the Health and Sciences building, continues. Along with the construction of Campbell Hall, the Physician Assistants Program is blooming. Due to the demand of student fitness, the Student Health Center improves the equipment. Each and every year, West Liberty administration has found more ways to better the education and experience of its students.
The faculty and staff of West Liberty, work hard to ensure the best for the students. They help give opportunities for involvement and great experiences. As a freshman, college can be overwhelming. In order to have great experiences at West Liberty, getting involved will help students find a groove. I was able to find my groove in Student Government. I remember not really knowing anybody, but the upperclassman showed me the ropes.
When you arrive at West Liberty, don’t be afraid to jump in and get involved. West Liberty has many clubs and activities for everyone to find the best fit. If you don’t find one that fits your groove, find some friends that have the same interests as you and start a new club. Remember that college goes by in a blink of an eye. Make the best of whatever you choose and find your groove!
2013-2014 Student Government President
