WLSC Financial Aid Information
Each student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to apply for federal and institutional financial aid at West Liberty State College. Financial aid includes grants, loans, and work-study.
Once the FAFSA is completed, it must be mailed to the Central Processor's Office in the envelope provided with the FAFSA. Students may also complete the FAFSA via the Internet using the web address www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The Central Processor will calculate an expected family contribution (EFC) figure based on the information provided on the FAFSA. You may obtain an unofficial calculation of what your EFC may be for the upcoming year at http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/. The EFC is the estimated dollar amount the family should be able to contribute to the student's cost of attendance (COA). The COA includes tuition and fees, room and board, books, and personal and transportation expenses incurred while the student is attending classes. The EFC is subtracted from the COA to determine financial need and aid eligibility.
The student must also list on the FAFSA the Title IV code for any college or university that they are interested in attending. West Liberty State College's Title IV code is: 003823.
Each school listed on the FAFSA will electronically receive a copy of the student's processed report. This report will have the student's EFC listed on it. This report will be used to determine aid eligibility and the amount of financial aid awards.
